Alpe di Siusi at a glance
The Alpe di Siusi, in German the Seiser Alm, is a high plateau in South Tyrol above Siusi (Seis am Schlern), with the Langkofel (Sassolungo) in the background. Most visitors take the cable car from Siusi to Compatsch, a ride of about 15 minutes. The alternative is the road, which is closed to private cars during the day while the cable car runs.
This is an independent guide. All prices and rules below are for summer 2026 and were checked on 19 October 2026. Winter 2026/27 and summer 2027 prices could not be verified.

The road closure: 09:00 to 17:00
While the cable car runs, the road from Siusi is closed to private traffic from 09:00 to 17:00. You can drive up to Compatsch before 09:00 and after 17:00. Driving down is possible at any time. The checkpoint at St. Valentin only lets cars with an access permit through, and a valid parking booking counts as that permit.
People with a European Disability Card may drive at any time, after registering. The road is about 11 km from Telfen to Compatsch, and the drive takes 20 to 25 minutes from Kastelruth, Siusi or Völs.
In the shoulder seasons (mid-April to mid-May, and early November to early December) the cable car is closed and the road is open all day. Parking at P2 then costs €15 per car and €80 per bus. This is the rule for 2026, not a promise for next year.

Buses and passes
The Seiser Alm Express (line 10) is an alternative to the cable car. The Mobilcard is not valid on lines 10, 11 and 12 on the Alpe di Siusi. We could not verify whether the Guest Pass is valid on them. If a pass matters to your budget, ask your accommodation.
Staying in Val Gardena? The Alpe di Siusi is a different ride than Seceda: different lift, different rules. More about the valley is in the Val Gardena guide.
Alpe di Siusi in winter 2026/27
